Sullivan County Catskills

The Good Life Is A Short Drive Away In The Sullivan Catskills

Two hours from Manhattan there’s a country escape waiting for you and it’s spectacular in any season. The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway offers fabulous river vistas, eagle viewing along the river and shops, restaurants and antiquing in historic towns along the drive.

Sullivan County’s microbreweries, distilleries, and wineries can all be visited in one, easy ride. There’s great variety at Roscoe Beer Company, Prohibition Distillery, Catskill Brewery, Callicoon Brewing Company, Catskill Distilling Company, and Bashakill Vineyards.

Step into the hippie bus at The Museum at Bethel Woods on the campus of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, at the site of 1969’s Woodstock Music and Art Festival. It’s a celebration of the ‘60s sights, sounds, and societal changes. Our Beaverkill and Willowemoc Rivers are world famous for fishing. Livingston Manor’s Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum will show you how to cast a line and also features local culture and history.

You find great art here, too in Narrowsburg at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, and in Livingston Manor at the Catskill Art Society. Both feature exhibits, galleries, and classes in fine and digital media arts.

Our restaurants, taverns, and cafes feature the bounty of our farms, with local produce, game, meat, maple syrup, pasta, milk and cheese. You’ll find them on our tables and at Farmers’ markets spread throughout the County during the season.

Whether your tour lasts a day or several, find out why the Sullivan Catskills are becoming the choice of travelers from all over the Northeast who want to experience our Good Life. For more information visit SCVA.net or call 1-800-882-CATS.
