Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre

Located atop Liberty University’s serene 5,000-acre mountain, the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre (LMSC) is the premier destination for year-round snow sports on the East Coast. Composed of beginner, intermediate, and advanced slopes and a two-story lodge, this high-performance playground is the first of its kind in the U.S.

Snowflex is a synthetic material designed to imitate the slip-and-grip effects of snow. As the most innovative surface on the market, Snowflex has a misting system that keeps it slick, maximizing speed and edge control; also, unlike previous artificial slopes, Snowflex has a layer of cushioning to minimize the harsh impacts sometimes experienced in snow sports. This means that both beginner and freestyle riders can work on improving their skills in a safe and consistent environment year-round.

In June of every summer, we see around 100 campers per week progress in their skiing and snowboarding abilities at our summer camp. While the majority of these campers are from the Southeast region of the country, campers travel from as far as Maine, California and even Ontario, Canada each year! Snowflex offers an oasis to these riders who do not have the resources to travel to summer facilities out west. Every year campers leave our camps riding better than they ever could have imagined. This is all thanks to our highly qualified coaches, innovative Snowflex surface, and a variety of interchangeable park features. Campers also have access to our Olympic Trampoline and BagJump Airbag (see images above) to safely train for hitting jumps and learning aerial awareness!

Campers lodge in apartment style dorms that include wireless internet, a living room area, and a full kitchen. Aside from skiing and snowboarding, campers have access to a variety of other facilities owned by the university during afternoon activities. These activities include skateboarding/blading/scootering at the Liberty Mountain Skate Park, soccer and archery tag on outdoor soccer fields, swimming at an indoor pool, bouldering/climbing at the indoor rock wall, and others!

Registration opens will January 12, 2018.
