What’s going on in Gilroy?
(Hint: It’s more than just garlic!)

Every year on the last full weekend in July, the self-proclaimed “Garlic Capital of the World” welcomes thousands of visitors from around the globe to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Guests enjoy great garlicky food, cooking competitions, and live entertainment at the ultimate summer food fair. But there’s lots going on in Gilroy all year long!

Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park provides fun for the whole family, featuring over 40 rides and attractions, majestic gardens, interactive learning exhibits, and the world-famous Circus Trees in a beautiful and unique setting. And don’t miss Lumination, a spectacular nighttime festival of light celebrating 2,000 years of Chinese culture and tradition, coming to the park in July 2016.

Shoppers will find extraordinary everyday savings of 25–65% at 145 designer outlet stores at Gilroy Premium Outlets as well as a number of charming antique shops, boutiques, and excellent restaurants in Historic Downtown Gilroy.

Wine lovers will enjoy exploring the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail, which features over 25 award-winning wineries nestled in the foothills overlooking the valley. Gilroy’s scenic vineyards provide a casual, relaxed atmosphere for wine tasting and picnics.

The area also abounds with outdoor activities, with several parks, golf courses, hiking trails, and nearby lakes for fishing and water sports. This year, nearby CordeValle Resort will be hosting the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament (July 4–10, 2016).

With plenty of budget-friendly hotels and a central location close to Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and the Monterey Bay Area, Gilroy is a great California destination any time of year!
