A gem of the Finger Lakes region, The Strong museum, is the ultimate play destination for all ages. It was named the “No. 1 Family Travel Destination in the Nation” by FamilyFun magazine. A highly interactive history museum and the only one in the world dedicated to the cultural impact of play, The Strong is home to the world’s largest collection of play-related artifacts — such as the first hand-made Monopoly set (created by Charles Darrow) and the Bild Lilli doll (that inspired Barbie). The museum’s exhibits include, among many others, the world’s largest pop-up book, a kid-sized supermarket, arcades dedicated to the history of electronic games and pinball machines, and Upstate New York’s only year-round, indoor butterfly garden.
