At this lively event Grammy-award-winning musicians commonly take the stage for energetic performances and there are cook-offs, concerts and cultural events to fit every taste. Explore the back roads of the Myths & Legends Byway, with festivals that make Louisiana famous, lush pine forests, historic cemeteries, unique museums, mysterious waterways, and friendly hospitable people ready to share their stories. Twenty-two kiosks guide the way, creating a life-long travel memory.

When you’re in the area be sure to learn about the utopian colony of New Llano, at the Museum of the New Llano Colony; visit the Museum of West Louisiana to see the artwork created at Fort Polk by World War II prisoners-of-war; celebrate the esprit de corps of the U.S. Army’s Military Museum at Fort Polk.
