IN 2016, THE VIRGINIA MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART WILL UNVEIL AN UNPRECEDENTED EXHIBITION OF THE 50 FOREMOST CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS OF OUR TIME.
In 2016, the virginia museum of contemporary art will unveil an unprecedented exhibition of the 50 foremost contemporary artists of our time.
Ten years ago, two artists, Annie Owens and Attaboy, answered a calling. They felt a strong desire to share the type of art they loved; to make it accessible to anyone, anywhere. With their own well-developed aesthetic and penchant for visually stunning work, they understood that not everyone has the opportunity to see the work of many of the artists that they themselves enjoyed. So, the art magazine, Hi-Fructose was born.
Next year art enthusiasts from around the world will have the opportunity to marvel at art brought to life from the pages of this magazine through a ten year retrospective. Turn the Page: The First Ten Years of Hi-Fructose will be on view from May 21–December 31, 2016 at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), located in beautiful Virginia Beach. This museum exhibition will educate and engage the masses on the significance of this art movement, a first for the East-Coast in nearly 20 years. Visitors to the museum will enjoy a variety of media including sculpture, installation, painting, ceramics, and photography.
In addition, a wide selection of educational programming, interactive community outreach, film screenings, panel discussions, and events will provide the public an opportunity to interact with the art and artists in exciting new ways.
