There is Something for Everyone in Columbia
Locals like to think of Columbia as a cool neighborhood in a big city, with a young vibe, an active buzz and an engaged community. It’s also a friendly and welcoming community, with a thriving downtown, multiple colleges, and the University of Missouri. Columbia has been frequently ranked as a top place to live, best college town, and great community in which to retire. The things that make it so livable also make it a great destination.
Columbia is home to many unique festivals like the Roots N Blues N BBQ Fest, Art in the Park, Mid-MO PrideFest, and the True/False Film Fest. There’s a huge variety of restaurants including Good Morning America’s “Best College Hangout” winner, Shakespeare’s Pizza. If you’re looking for something fun to do, we have a little bit of everything: gardens, 3,000 acres of park land and over 40 miles of trails; live music venues; art galleries, theatres and museums; boutiques, antique shops, and a shopping mall; and historic sites. Catch a game at one of the colleges or grab a drink at a brewery (we have several!) or bluff-top winery just outside of town in Rocheport. Take the kids bowling, roller skating, laser tagging, go-karting, or bouncing. There is something for everyone! Time and time again, visitors are “pleasantly surprised” with Columbia and all that it has to offer.
Visit Columbia. With a vast network of nature trails, pristine golf courses and outdoor events to take in the fresh Missouri air, we may not have skyscrapers, but we have plenty to look up to.
