Live Gold Rush history with Old Sacramento Tours
Old Sacramento bustles to life with three tours that take you back to the California capital city’s strange beginnings.
The Old Sacramento Underground Tour takes you below ground, where this supply city used to be during the California Gold Rush. Discover the mammoth solution pioneers came up with to save the city from certain doom.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youths 6–17 — children 5 and younger attend free.
The Gold Fever! Tour tosses you into the Gold Rush rough-and-tumble, using game elements that change your fate. You play real-life Sacramento City heroes and villains with small fortunes in gold. Will you get richer or lose to the city’s many real disasters? Try your luck!
Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for youths and free for children 5 and younger.
Our adults-only Underground After Hours Tour reveals the city’s bawdy Gold Rush underbelly, full of mischief, mayhem, madness, murder…and madams! It’s $20 per guest 21 and older, and includes a commemorative shot glass and drink discounts.
Tour season runs April through December — but private group tours are available all year. Go to sachistorymuseum.org/tours and 916.808.7059 for tickets and information. The Sacramento History Museum is open year round, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
