Experience the Magic of the Steubenville Nutcracker Village

A magical addition to holiday celebrations is the 2017 Steubenville Nutcracker VillageTM and Advent Market in eastern Ohio where holiday lights, Christmas music, and over 150 unique life-sized Nutcrackers fill Fort Steuben Park.

This unique attraction, on display 24/7 from November 21 through January 7, features locally designed and produced 6-foot Nutcrackers, each one representing a well-known character, mascot or profession. These colourful figures are arrayed throughout Fort Steuben Park under an archway of lights allowing people to take photos as they recognize familiar personalities such as Dr. Who, St. Francis, Scrooge, Sherlock Holmes, Patrolman Holiday, Starman and Steubenville’s own Dean Martin.

Nutcrackers also fill the Exhibit Hall in the Fort Steuben Visitor Center where the Christmas Wonderland welcomes young and old. Amidst a variety of Christmas trees, retro toys, music, and novelties evoke memories of Christmas Past. Youngsters can write letters to Santa and take photos with the Holiday Horse. Collectible nutcrackers, books, puzzles and gift items are on sale in the Fort Steuben Gift Shop, open daily in the Visitor Center from 10am to 6pm.

Weekends bring additional activities for family fun and memory-making when artisans offer crafts and baked goods in Holiday Chalets as part of the Advent Market. Entertainment by area performers and choirs fill the air with holiday music. Steubenville’s historic churches shine through magnificent stained-glass windows as visitors take hayrides through the city streets or travel on the Holly Trolley. The Market is open from 3pm–8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, 1pm–6pm on Sundays.
